Virtual School
Pendleton County Schools has partnered with Edmentum's EdOptions Academy to provide students with a full-time online option for learning. Virtual School is an entirely online with certified teachers who have been hired through Edmentum. Students who wish to participate in Virtual School must meet the requirements described below:
Enrolled in Pendleton County Schools as a full- or part-time student in grades 6-12.
Enroll prior to the 10th academic day of each semester.
Parents & students successfully complete a virtual education orientation session.
Meet West Virginia school enrollment requirements, including immunizations.
Meet enrollment requirements for courses, including prerequisite courses.
Maintain a grade of 60% in courses taken during the current academic year.
Have daily access to consistent Internet service.
Have reliable transportation to and from tutoring sites, testing, and extracurricular activities.
Begin coursework within the first two weeks of enrollment.
Per the Virtual Handbook, only students who have maintained a 2.0 GPA and earned no failing grades the year before enrollment may apply to be a full-time virtual student. Parental permission is also needed.
All homeschool students will be automatically accepted in the program as a full-time student. After starting the program, these students will follow the same rules for continuing eligibility as all other students for their grade level.
