This week, we celebrate our amazing school counselors who make a difference in the lives of Pendleton County students every day. 💫 Whether it's offering support during tough times, guiding students toward their future, or just being a listening ear, school counselors are superheroes in our communities.
Anger Management for Youth is a free, interactive session where participants will
learn strategies to identify and cope with their anger in healthier ways. Parents
and caregivers are highly encouraged to attend with their child. This training is
designed for youth ages 10-17, though sessions are separated by age range:
elementary (8-12) and secondary (13-17).

The WV Advisory Council for the Education of Exceptional Children (WVACEEC) is hosting a Virtual Resource on the evening of February 13, 2025, from 6-8 pm.
This event is free and is packed with helpful information for parents, families, and educators of exception children.

Due to Grant County Schools having a two-hour delay today, the field trip to the South Branch Career and Technical School for the 10th grade class has been rescheduled for Friday, January 31st. The students will leave no later than 8:30 and return by noon.
The sophomore class will be going to South Branch Career and Technical Center Wednesday, January 29th. Letters were sent home Friday, January 24th. Only students not allowed to attend are to return letters by Tuesday, January 28th.
Although we had some technical difficulty and could not go live yesterday afternoon, we still wanted to share the recording with anyone in the community who was interested in the results from the County Social Studies and Science Fair. (Link below)

*If there is a 2 hour delay tomorrow, we plan to still have the fair at NFES.
*If there is a 3 hour delay we will have to reschedule again.
*If there is a 2 hour delay, parents are still welcome to visit around 1:30pm. However, please understand if judging is not yet finished we will have to hold off on announcing winners until next week at the schools.
*If there is no delay, we will continue as originally planned and parents are welcome to come for the ceremony at 1pm.
*We will attempt to live stream the ceremony on the county Youtube channel.

Due to students not being back in school yet this week, the Social Studies and Science Fair previously scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday, January 9th at North Fork Elementary School has been moved to the snow date of Tuesday, January 14th.
At the board meeting last evening, Mr. Hedrick presented Mrs. Amy Rexrode her plaque from the state of West Virginia recognizing her as the Pendleton County Teacher of the Year. Congratulations again to Mrs. Rexrode!

A basketball skills clinic for students in Grades 3-6 will be December 14 from 10am-1pm at the PCMHS gym.
*3rd and 4th grade boys clinic will be from 10-10:30am.
*3rd and 4th grade girls clinic will be from 10:30-11am.
*5th and 6th grade boys clinic will be from from 11-11:30am.
*5th and 6th grade girls clinic will be from 11:30am-12pm with a coaches meeting to follow.
*Coaches meeting from 12-1pm.
Those who have not turned in their registration fee must be turned in during skills day or first practice and physicals must be turned into coaches prior to first game.
Wanting to participate in youth basketball or cheerleading and forgot to turn in your form today? Not a problem, you still have time to turn in your registration forms for students or parent volunteers. 🏀 Reminder: Registration and volunteer forms for Grades 3-6 PC youth basketball have been sent home and are due back no later than December 4th.
In hopes of a second match for the Lady Wildcats, a pep bus is being arranged to leave at noon on Monday. A decision will be made by 10:30 Monday morning pending a second match, available chaperones, and enough interest by students.
Please join the send off for our Lady Wildcats Sunday at 11:30 a.m. from the high school as they head to Charleston for the State Volleyball Tournament.
A pep bus will leave the school Monday at 1:30 pm if the team advances; a signed permission form is required.
