This past week, eight members, Kaylee Callison, Lydia Heavner, Ty Heavner, McKenna Hedrick, Ella Johnston, Gena Lambert, Makayla Tingler, and Lucas Vandevander, of the Pendleton County FFA Chapter attended and competed at the 96th Annual WV FFA State Convention at Cedar Lakes in Ripley, WV.
Opening day, Wednesday, July 10, was full of competitions. The Parliamentary Procedure Team consisting of L Heavner, Hedrick, Callison, Lambert, Johnston and Tingler; T Heavner in Freshman Creed; Johnston in Upperclassman Creed; and L Heavner in Prepared Speech all completed in the first round.
The Parliamentary Procedure Team and L Heavner earned a spot in the final round on Thursday, July 11. T Heavner also competed in the Tractor Driving Contest in the zero-turn lawnmower division.

Lindsey Smith received recognition for earning the 2024 WV Poultry Proficiency and for being an American Degree Candidate. Brandon Lantz is also a candidate for the American FFA Degree.
The Chapter received recognition for being a National Chapter program. If approved on the national level, the chapter will be recognized at the National Convention in October.
