The Pendleton County Middle School Student of the Month for October 2024 is Tegan Johnson. Tegan is in the 7th grade and is the son of Travis Johnson and Desiree Conners of Franklin, WV. He enjoys spending time outside and playing football. In the future, Tegan has plans to become an engineer.
The Pendleton County High School Academic Student of the Month for October 2024 is Leah Bennett. Leah is in the 12th grade and is the daughter of Phares Bennett and Judith Warner of Circleville, WV. She is an active member of the National Honor Society and Upward Bound. Outside of school, Leah enjoys spending time with her horses. After graduation, Leah plans to earn an Associate’s degree in radiologic technology and become an x-ray technician.
The Pendleton County High School James Huffman Responsible Student of the Month for October 2024 is Sawyer Apple. Sawyer is in the 12th grade and is the son of Kyle and Jennifer Apple of Franklin, WV. He was a member of the soccer team during his freshmen year, and has proudly been an active member on the PCHS Track & Field team for four years. In 2024, Sawyer placed 6th in High Hurdles and 8th in the 300m Hurdles at the State Track Meet. Since 2015, Sawyer has participated in the Boy Scouts with the Scout Troop 162, where he has earned the Eagle Scout Award. He is also a member of the Franklin Ward Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. After graduation, Sawyer plans to attend college. He has not decided on a field of work, but he strives for a successful career and happy life.
In addition to this awesome recognition, these students will receive a t-shirt, $50 from Pendleton Community Bank, and movie/ice cream/bowling passes (courtesy of South Branch Cinema 6 & South Branch Potomac Lanes). WAY TO GO, WILDCATS!!
