Let's Go! Weekend is a new family-friendly overnight college preparation event for West Virginia high school juniors and seniors. The event will be held March 1-3, 2024 at WVU Jackson's Mill in Weston, West Virginia.
Students can come alone or bring their parents to learn about college. The weekend kicks off with students checking in on Friday evening and joining a classic WVU tailgate-themed welcome event featuring tailgate foods, games, a photo booth, and more.
On Saturday, there will be guided workshops for students and parents, both together and separately. Workshops include preparing for and completing the FAFSA, scholarship applications, financial literacy, and preparing for the transition after high school. Attendees also will get the opportunity to apply to WVU and have their application fee waived, as well as complete the FAFSA.
This event is at no cost to youth participants. Additional family members will pay $50 per person for meals and lodging. Please be sure to register all family members attending. Families will stay in the family housing area. Students who attend the event without an adult will be in dorm housing with WVU Extension volunteers. Any minor-aged family member attending will not be able to join Saturday sessions and must be supervised at all times.
